|  | Kati Cavanagh is one of our Certified Life Fitness Coaches who specializes in sports specific training, especially field hockey and basketball. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor's Degree where she majored in biology and minored in physiology and neurobiology. While at UConn, she played for their nationally, Top 5 ranked field hockey team finishing her senior year as a starter and leading scorer in the Big East Conference. The eldest of four siblings, Kati is also great with kids. She spent several years working at a preschool and the last two years teaching at the high school level. She has been certified in Strength and conditioning from | | the National Personal Training Institute. Kati is currently working towards getting a Massage Therapist License were she plans to integrate sports massage into her clients' training sessions. Kati is also the founder, director, and a coach of Competitive Edge Field Hockey, a program that gives female athletes a chance to improve their skills and gain more playing experience. |
| | Stephen Saladino is a graduate from Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) with his Bachelors degree in Exercise Science. Stephen is also a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NSAM). Stephen’s passion for the field of exercise science and nutrition developed over the past decade. During high school, he first became aware of the importance of focusing on strength and conditioning, particularly during the off-season, while excelling at competitive football, baseball and wrestling. His knowledge of and personal commitment to fitness, nutrition, and proper conditioning techniques in competitive sports |  | | developed as he matured on the field as an athlete. At the same time, Stephen became interested in mastering the science behind training to better understand how athletes achieve their maximum physiological potential. After high school, although his organized athletic endeavors ended, they were replaced by formal study in this area and a new passion in exercise: bodybuilding. Stephen is a bodybuilding enthusiast and is currently in training to compete on the amateur bodybuilding circuit. Through his education and experience, Stephen has developed a deep understanding of what it requires to become an athlete and a bodybuilder, both psychologically and physiologically, as well as the challenges that many people must overcome in order to develop fully and push their limits. He is aware of the discipline and the sacrifice it takes to achieve physical goals, and hopes to help others to become passionate about exercise, maximize their physical potential and achieve their fitness aspirations. |
